John ZhangManaging Director

John Zhang is based in Beijing, joined Warburg Pincus in 2023 and is a Managing Director in the Healthcare group. Prior to joining Warburg Pincus, he was Managing Director and Head of Healthcare Investment at Huatai Golden Purple Investment Co. Ltd., the direct investment platform under Huatai Securities. Before that, he worked for CPE focusing on healthcare especially health service investment. Prior to CPE, John was with Phoenix Healthcare Holdings (1515.HK, currently as China Resources Medical) as Assistant to Chairman and Director of Investment. He received a bachelor’s degree in clinical medicine from Capital Medical University, and an MS in cellular pharmacology from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an Master of Healthcare Administration from Rush University.
