Henry Schacht is a Special Limited Partner at Warburg Pincus. Mr. Schacht joined the Firm as a Managing Director in 1995. During leaves of absence, he served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer and then Chairman of Lucent Technologies. Prior to joining Warburg Pincus, Mr. Schacht was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Cummins Engine Company. He is a Senior Advisor to the Board of Directors of Alcoa and previously served as a Director of Alcoa, Alcatel-Lucent, AT&T, Avaya, CBS, Chase Manhattan, Johnson & Johnson, Lucent and The New York Times. He is a former member of The Business Council and the Business Roundtable. He is a trustee of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, former Chairman of the Board of Trustees of The Ford Foundation and a former trustee of Yale University and The Rockefeller Foundation. Mr. Schacht graduated from Yale University and earned an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
