Derek LauVice President

Derek Lau is a Vice President based in New York, joined Warburg Pincus in 2024, and is a member of the Capital Solutions team. Prior to joining Warburg Pincus, he was a Vice President at BDT & MSD Partners, where he invested in and advised family-owned and founder-led businesses in sports, business services, and telecom. Previously, Derek worked at Apollo Private Equity, focused on investments in technology and business services, including Western Digital and ADT. He started his career at Goldman Sachs as an investor in the Multi-Strategy investing team within the Special Situations group. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of New South Wales.
