We are excited to announce that Jeffrey Perlman, President of Warburg Pincus, has been elected Chairman of the Board of the US-ASEAN Business Council. The US-ASEAN Business Council conducts research and analysis of economic, environmental, financial, political, and social, conditions in the ten countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). The Council has become the leading voice of the U.S. private sector in promoting mutually beneficial trade and investment relationships between the U.S. and the ten countries of Southeast Asia.

We recently commemorated our 10-year anniversary of investing in Vietnam. We hosted a reception in Hanoi to celebrate which was attended by Chip Kaye, CEO of Warburg Pincus, Jeffrey Perlman, President of Warburg Pincus, Marc E. Knapper, U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam, Tran Duy Dong, Deputy Minister of Ministry of Planning and Investment of Vietnam, and other senior leaders of government agencies and business partners who have been pivotal in Warburg Pincus’ decade-long journey in Vietnam.

GIC Insights is GIC’s annual thought leadership event that gathers a select group of prominent global business leaders to discuss long-term issues pertinent to the international business and investment community.

Last week we welcomed over 180 leaders from 77 portfolio companies to our annual Warburg Pincus Connect: FLT2: Finance, Legal, Technology, and Talent Leadership Conference in San Diego, CA. The event, which started over 10 years ago, is our largest cross functional event of the year. The conference was a great opportunity for C-level executives across Finance, Technology, Talent, and Legal functions to share lessons learned, gain insights, and network with a group of world class peers.

Warburg Pincus recently enjoyed hosting participants from the SEO (Sponsors for Educational Opportunity) Alternative Investments program for breakfast at our office. It was a fantastic opportunity to discuss our firm’s approach and insights. We also delved into “a day in the life” at Warburg Pincus with insights from our Associates – Madeline Press, Samuel Jacobson, and Mike Hernandez.

Last month, Women@Warburg, our global female focused employee network, hosted their second successful recruiting event at Annabel’s in London. The event was aimed at female professionals with 1-2 years of Investment Banking experience who are considering a move into Private Equity. We had our highest turn out to date, with approximately 35 women, who joined an informative discussion with our talented European colleagues.

Harsha Marti, Managing Director and General Counsel at Warburg Pincus, was named one of Crain’s New York Business 2023 Notable Nonprofit Board Leaders for his position as Board co-chair of the Brooklyn Org. Brooklyn Community Foundation is the first and only public foundation solely dedicated to Brooklyn’s charitable community, having provided over $90 million in grants to nonprofits since its founding in 2009.

We are proud to announce the successful close of our largest-ever global fund, Warburg Pincus Global Growth 14, L.P. (WPGG 14). WPGG 14 was launched in 2021, targeting a fund size of $16 billion. Despite a challenging fundraising environment for private equity firms generally, WPGG 14 was met with very high investor demand and significantly exceeded expectations, closing on $17.3 billion of capital. WPGG 14 also significantly exceeds our previous global fund, Global Growth, which closed on $15 billion in 2018.

We’re grateful to Connor Popik, Hunter Fields, Kylie Simms, and Matt L. for their roles as judges in the Analyst Pitch competition.
