RDA Microelectronics

In 2004, Warburg Pincus co-founded RDA Microelectronics (RDA) with local entrepreneurs to tap into the growth opportunities in the semiconductor industry. RDA designs, develops, and markets wireless systems-on-chip and radio-frequency semiconductors for cellular, connectivity, and broadcast applications. RDA took off rapidly and became one of the top three domestic fabless semiconductor players and listed on Nasdaq in November 2010. In 2013, Warburg Pincus assisted RDA in reaching an acquisition agreement with Tsinghua Unigroup, a subsidiary of Tsinghua University and a respected high-tech conglomerate. The transaction was completed in July 2014 and Warburg Pincus exited the investment.
