Accelya
In 2014, Warburg Pincus invested in Mercator, a provider of software and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) solutions to the global aviation industry. Mercator was established in 1995 by Emirates to market software solutions, which had been developed for internal use, to third-party customers. At the time of the firm’s investment, Mercator served 125 airlines including United Airlines, Thai Airways, Qantas, British Airways, and JetBlue. In 2017, and in partnership with Warburg Pincus, Mercator completed the acquisition of Accelya, a provider of mission-critical financial, commercial, cargo, billing, and settlement software solutions to airlines, travel agents, and shippers worldwide. The combined company was re-branded Accelya, with Accelya’s management team taking over the operations of the combined business. Warburg Pincus exited Accelya in 2019.
