Robert B. Knauss is a Managing Director. He joined Warburg Pincus in 2013 and served as its General Counsel from 2013-2020. He currently advises on legal, policy, regulatory and compliance matters. He serves on the Boards of Sotera Health and Mariner Finance. Prior to joining Warburg Pincus, he was a Corporate Partner at the firm of Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP in Los Angeles, where he focused primarily on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and securities and Private Equity. Prior to joining Munger, Tolles & Olson in 1981, he served as a Law Clerk for Justice William H. Rehnquist of the Supreme Court of the United States and the Honorable Walter R. Mansfield of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Robert received a BA from Harvard University and a JD from the University of Michigan Law School.
