Trident Energy
Trident Energy (“Trident”) is an E&P company headquartered in London, UK, aiming to build a diversified international portfolio of operated, cash-generating, onshore and shallow/mid-water offshore assets. Trident is currently focused on acquiring scale brownfield assets from majors and large independents, with value creation ultimately driven by increasing overall resource recovery and enhancing operations. Trident is led by the former CEO of Perenco, Jean-Michel Jacoulot, and several other former Perenco executives who have a long track record of successfully operating & acquiring international midlife E&P assets. The company was created in 2016 and backed by an equity commitment led by Warburg Pincus with a broad mandate to acquire assets across Africa, Latin America and Asia. In 2017, Trident successfully acquired a 50% operated interest in the Okume and Ceiba fields offshore Equatorial Guinea from Hess Corporation alongside Kosmos Energy, and in 2020 also completed the acquisition of a 100% interest in the Pampo and Enchova clusters offshore Brazil from Petrobras.
