WARBURG PINCUS AWARDED FOR ‘MOST SPECTACULAR EXITS’ IN IVCA AWARDS 2021 Mar 29, 2021

MARCH 25, 2021 -- Warburg Pincus was acknowledged for its 'Most Spectacular Exits' at the 2021 IVCA PE-VC Awards hosted by the Indian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (IVCA). Now in its 10th year, the IVCA Conclave is India's premiere private equity and venture capital event.

The award recognizes successful exits implemented by Warburg Pincus in 2021 including Bharti Telemedia Limited [Airtel DTH], Gangavaram Port Limited and Kalyan Jewellers India Limited through full and partial exits.

Since inception, the IVCA PE-VC awards have aimed at bringing a larger community focus on the Indian PE-VC industry by acknowledging unique endeavors and achievements. This year the IVCA event was unique in its focus on recognizing funds that have played a key role in job creation through their investment activities, promoting outstanding action for better Healthcare and Gender Diversity and championed an inclusive India investment approach.

Vishal Mahadevia, Managing Director and Head of India at Warburg Pincus, discussed how investors invest so much into backing founders and companies while it is also important to return money to investors at the virtual event hosted by the IVCA.

Warburg Pincus has been one of the earliest and active private equity investors in the Indian sub-continent over the last 24 years.  In the region, the firm has invested in over $6 billion in companies that have established a leadership position in their respective industries, many of which Warburg Pincus co-founded alongside their entrepreneurs.
