Warburg Pincus Honored as ‘Firm of the Year in China’ in PEI and PERE Awards 2020 Mar 4, 2021

Warburg Pincus was recognized as 'Firm of the Year in China' by Private Equity International (PEI) for 2020. On the same day, Private Equity Real Estate (PERE) awarded Warburg Pincus its 'Firm of the Year in China' for 2020. Both awards honor the year's most outstanding private equity firms and are highly respected across the globe.

PEI is the only global publication with a primary focus on the relationship between investors and fund managers in private equity: the LP-GP nexus. The PEI Awards have been shining a light on the private equity industry's achievements since 2001 and 2020 was no exception.

"Warburg Pincus completed at least four deals in China in 2020, including the $8.7 billion take-private of classifieds business 58.com. The firm also took a majority stake in Afiona and led a 1.2 billion yuan financing round for Shanghai Haihe Pharmaceutical, a biotech company based in the city," the PEI wrote of Warburg Pincus' year.
